New, Work

Zach Meisner
New, Work
On View: June 7 – July 7, 2013

CourtneyBlades is pleased to present Zach Meisner: New, Work. Meisner creates personal, idiosyncratic work that blends Euclidean and Topological geometry together to create a combination of elegance and funk. The result is highly polished and amorphous painting, with exceptional attention to detail. This is Meisner’s first solo show with the Gallery. The title of this exhibition is not only a straightforward description, but is also a nod to Meisner’s previous appearance in Make, Work; a two person exhibition with Luke Armistead at CourtneyBlades in 2011.

Zach Meisner was born in Taos, New Mexico and currently lives in Chicago. In 2007, he was a resident in the School of Visual Art’s Summer Residency Program, and in 2009 he participated in Land Art of the American West at The University of New Mexico. Meisner has exhibited in New Mexico, Colorado, and Chicago. In September 2012 he had a solo exhibition Low-Relief at the LeRoy Neiman Center Gallery at SAIC, and this spring he had work in Flatlanders & Surface Dwellers at 516 ARTS in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Zach recently received a BFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
